October 10, 2008 SI's Advance Team continues its work in Texas, setting up a base of operations for Service International equipment, vehicles and volunteer relief teams. The first rapid response team deployed on September 20.
The team has already moved SI's disaster relief equipment and vehicles from Baton Rouge, LA, to Texas in preparation for Hurricane Ike disaster relief work. Dates for this work will be published here on our website as they become available.

September 18, 2008 SI's Advance Team is now in Texas investigating opportunities to help people in the wake of
Hurricane Ike. Currently, SI's disaster relief equipment is in Baton Rouge, LA, where volunteer teams have already invested $150,000 worth
of labor removing trees and debris from 35 sites. In light of the extreme devastation in Texas and Louisiana, Service International has
made the decision to continue working in the Gulf Coast area at this time. Stay tuned for more information, updates, and photos from the
stricken region.
September 12, 2008 In the wake of Hurricane Gustav, SI continues to send disaster relief volunteers to Baton Rouge, LA,
where nearly half of the homes are still without power and hundreds of downed trees

September 3, 2008 SI's Rapid Response team is now in Baton Rouge to help home and business owners clean up after Hurricane Gustav. The team of 12 volunteers caravaned together, driving seven trucks and trailers filled with tools, equipment, generators, and water.
Initially the team will clear trees and debris from streets and buildings and cover damaged roofs with tarps. At this time, it's reported that power is still out in the region. Service International will continue to monitor the situation in the hurricane damage zone and expects to send more disaster relief teams in the coming weeks.
